Understandings:
Students will understand that…
·      How their ideas and arguments can be explained and supported by other sources  
·      There are sources that are not credible and that they will need to utilize sources that are credible
·      There are different ways evidence can be presented in their writing
·      If they are using information from another source, it must be cited
Essential Questions:
·      What is the purpose of the text you are writing?
·      What are different resources you can use to find information pertaining to the big idea of the text?
·      What information from the source supports what you are writing about?
·      How will you know these sources are reliable? How will you cite them?
Students will know…       
·      Where they can find different resources
·       How to research relevant sources
·      The difference between sources that are credible and ones that are not

Students will be able to…    
·      Determine if a source is a credible one
·      Back up their own ideas/arguments with evidence and examples from other resources

  1. Hi Brieana! Your chart is so well organized and it looks great! It looks like you and I had some very similar ideas for the learning goals of this lesson. I thought your questions were very well worded and would be straightforward and easy for your students to understand and answer.
